Mix and match matte and shimmer paper

Posted on by admin

Combining matte and shimmer (a.k.a. metallic) papers that complement each other is one of the easiest ways to catch your guests’ eye as soon as they pull your invitation out of the envelope.

There’s just something elegant and high end about mixing and matching papers. This pocketfold wedding invitation is a perfect example of color coordinating matte and shimmer paper to create an elegant look.

The pocketfold is a basic, matte cream. Gold leaf (shimmer) was then mounted as a backer and the invitation itself is rose quartz (shimmer). A thick, textured outer cream envelope safely delivered the pocketfold invitation to the bride and grooms guests.

Want a bolder look? Try a dark colored pocketfold and pair with light colors.

This pocketfold invitation is dark grey, which is a popular alternative to basic black, with a bright white backer (matte) and shimmer quartz invitation. A matching outer shimmer quartz envelope is a nice change from the basic white or cream envelope.
